About This System

Welcome to the Online Case Information System

This is the Online Case Information System for general district courts, juvenile and domestic relations district courts, and select circuit courts in Virginia. This system allows users to conduct statewide searches for criminal and traffic cases that have been filed in any general district court, any juvenile and domestic relations district court, or any circuit court other than Fairfax Circuit Court.  Please contact the Circuit Court of Fairfax directly for case information not available through this system.  For circuit court contact information,please visit Individual Circuit Court Homepages.  

Searches of this system can be performed by entering the defendant’s name, the case number, or the hearing date.  Searches based on the defendant’s name or hearing date can be refined by selecting the court level to be searched (general district, J&DR courts, and/or circuit courts) and by clicking specific courts to limit the search to those selected. Hearing date searches can be further refined by entering the specific time of the hearing.  Case number searches can be performed by entering the case number and the specific court to be searched.

Please note that not all cases are available through the Online Case Information System, including but not limited to the following: protective orders (e.g., emergency protective orders, preliminary protective orders, and protective orders), mental health proceedings (e.g., emergency custody orders, temporary detention orders, and involuntary commitments), medical emergency custody and medical temporary detention orders, concealed handgun permits, and juvenile delinquency appeals, juvenile civil, juvenile delinquency and support cases in the J&DR courts.
